about

So, Virtual Salamander is this big album I made in 9th grade. It started off as this little joke until it slowly escalated and everyone expected me to drop this album with 50 tracks and 2 bonus tracks. I delivered and sold a bunch of CDs to people at school and it was met with critical acclaim. Some of the people who bought CDs I later became friends with and others I never heard from again.

There's this whole micro-legacy that's kind of been built from this album just because there have been so many different people and groups in the years since I dropped this that have ended up really liking the album and how silly it is. I unexpectedly learned a lot from dropping this when I was 15 and I am still facing the consequences to this day.

The version I'm uploading on Bandcamp is the most comprehensive version I'll upload online. The Soundcloud version, which has been up since around the album's original release, only has 28 of the original 52 tracks. This Bandcamp release has 39, with the leftover tracks being a handful of tracks that are meh. I like lost media so I think it's fun to keep the missing tracks a mystery, but you aren't missing out on anything special. The tracks you're listening to on here are the full Virtual Salamander experience in my eyes. The album was incredibly rushed and sloppily edited and mixed, which I think adds a little fun to it.
